A Father’s Promise, a Storm’s Price
The Story
Gene Chandler extends a thirty-two yuan contract for the village durians, but Warren Hayes rejects the lowball offer and rallies the community to demand forty-five. Eugene Hayes signs a deal to cover his daughter's surgery, only for Warren to tempt him with cash to break the agreement. The typhoon arrives, destroying the harvest and forcing a reckoning. The ruined fruit becomes the true measure of the storm's cost, leaving the villagers to face the aftermath of their broken promises and the devastating loss of their livelihood.
