A heart that refuses to forget

The Story

Alexander Carter dies in a car crash the night before his wedding, leaving his fiancée to face a life without him. Five years later, he reappears at a Manhattan gala, alive and well. He mocks her in the ballroom, openly sleeping with her half-sister Marjorie and offering to keep her as his mistress. She smiles and corrects his assumption. Alexander remains unaware of the video she possesses from the night of his accident. He also does not know that while he lived in Europe, she married his uncle, the true power behind the Carter family. They now have a four-year-old daughter together. The revelation strips away his arrogance, exposing the secret life she built while he presumed her broken.
