A sworn promise, kept for a lifetime: All Episodes

The Story

A ritual bride earns her living by ensuring the lineages of men who died too young continue through her services. She has completed one hundred and seven such contracts, receiving three hundred silver pieces for each arrangement. Tradition dictates that she celebrates the wedding with the deceased before performing the final rite in the bridal chamber. Today she accepts her one hundred and eighth mission, welcoming her one hundred and eighth husband into her life. This particular engagement feels markedly different from the previous encounters, setting the stage for a unique experience within the established customs of her profession.
