The Story

Jack returns to his Midwest hometown to manage a grain purchasing business. He consistently offers local farmers fair and reasonable prices for their wheat. Yet Martha and other community members remain suspicious of his motives. They insist he deliberately lowers prices to maximize his own profits. This misunderstanding creates friction between the businessman and the agricultural community he serves.
