Broken Strings, Unchained Melody

The Story

Amelia returns home after a decade in a remote island prison, her body gaunt and scarred from the fire she was falsely accused of committing. Her adoptive sister Lucy, along with her parents, brother, and former fiancé Louis, conspired to send her away. Upon her arrival, the family gathers to celebrate Lucy’s birthday. Lucy smiles sweetly and requests Amelia’s fiancé as a gift, and no one objects to the demand. A phone call from Professor Lucas, who once believed in her art, offers her a new life in Paris. She has one month to secure her freedom. Amelia resolves to endure this final month, but her family’s reaction reveals whether they will allow her to leave or keep her trapped in the web of betrayal they spun.
