Cold Harbor
The Story
Military veteran Jack Miller returns to Brook Harbor to operate a seafood purchasing business, earning the trust of local fishermen like Old Charlie by consistently offering fair prices. Angela Shaw, heir to Walton Seafood, seeks to monopolize coastal resources and disrupts Jack’s operations. She lures fishermen away from their contracts with Jack by offering an enticing rate of five dollars per pound, far above the market average. This strategy forces Jack to temporarily shut down his warehouse. Walton Seafood then exploits contractual loopholes to slash the purchase price down to one dollar fifty cents, revealing the swindle to the fishermen. Jack gathers evidence of Walton’s past fraudulent acts and unites the cheated fishermen to drive the corporation out of the harbor. He subsequently plans to integrate resources from surrounding fishing ports to build a fisherman-owned supply and marketing system, shielding the local community from future exploitation by capital.
