Dear Brother, You Loved Me Too Late
The Story
Sixteen years of misplaced guilt define Amal’s existence. Her mother died during her birth, leaving her father, Mazen, to neglect her while her brother, Karim, despises her very presence. Amal holds onto the faint warmth Karim once offered, but that fragile bond shatters when their cousin Maryam moves in. Karim turns entirely against Amal, openly wishing she had died instead of their mother. That dark desire becomes reality when Amal receives a cancer diagnosis. Her death finally arrives, and the consequences immediately ripple through Karim’s life. As Amal passes away, the foundation of Karim’s world begins to crumble, exposing the devastating cost of his long-held hatred and the irreversible loss that follows.
