Dear Brother, You Loved Me Too Late
The Story
Angelica bears a sixteen-year burden of guilt for her mother’s death during childbirth, a weight she never deserved. Her father, Martin, rejects her, while her brother, Christopher, harbors deep hatred. She clings to the only warmth he has ever shown her, but that fragile connection shatters when their cousin Madison moves into the home. Christopher turns his back on his sister entirely, wishing she had died instead of their mother. Fate twists cruelly to grant that wish when Angelica receives a cancer diagnosis. The illness progresses relentlessly until she passes away. Only after her death does Christopher’s world truly begin to crumble, revealing the depth of the loss he never acknowledged.
