Farm Queen's Reckoning
The Story
Claire Sullivan transforms rural Pennsylvania agriculture by connecting local vegetable farmers directly with Philadelphia communities. She bypasses middlemen to sell high-quality Napa cabbage, doubling the growers' income and earning their widespread trust. Dissatisfied with losing customers, wholesaler Vince sends his niece Vanessa to infiltrate the countryside. Vanessa uses a fictional high price of fifty-five cents per pound to incite the farmers. Blinded by greed, Maggie and other growers turn against Claire, smashing her warehouse and terminating their contracts. The deception soon unravels when the true purchase price of fourteen cents per pound is revealed. A large amount of vegetables rots in the fields, leaving the farmers with no way out. Claire moves to Lacross County to collaborate with new growers. She secures large orders for fresh food chains with high-quality sources and registers an agricultural company. Her business gradually scales up, showcasing resilience in rural commerce.
