Fated Mark

The Story

Rowan believes he has traded his life for a chance to save his brother and clear debts. He grips a steel chain, staring at a blood-stained contract on the cold silver floor. Moonlight floods the room, transforming his aloof employer Kael. The man’s pupils turn green as his bones explode into a half-beast form. The orc pounces with lethal intent. In a sudden reversal, the giant wolf does not kill him. Instead, the creature presses sharp fangs against Rowan’s glands. It inhales his scent greedily and aggrievedly.
