Fleeing North, I Married the Cursed King

The Story

Eileen, the Duke of the South’s daughter, loses her inheritance to her stepmother and faces an unwanted betrothal to Prince Gavin. She escapes her wedding night and heads north, where Kael, the cursed Lord of the North, rescues her from a blizzard. Wolves flank him as thorny brambles surround his body, injuring anyone who makes contact. No one dares approach the Beast King, yet Eileen stays with no other option. She becomes the only person able to touch him, holding his curse at bay. Eileen sews winter clothes and secures provisions, earning the respect of the northern people. As pursuers close in and the curse spirals out of control, Kael reaches his limit. Fate does not lift the affliction. It vanishes because they freely choose each other. Eileen walks toward him alone, and the brambles never appear again.
