From Ashes, We Rise

The Story

Eighteen-year-old Karol Sowle marries intellectual Joseph Lee, but his family despises her humble rural origins and subjects her to relentless mistreatment. Unable to endure the abuse any longer, she flees and encounters Theo Lipsey, a disabled veteran. With his steadfast support, Karol resumes her studies and refines her sewing skills until she establishes her own garment factory. Meanwhile, her devoted daily care helps Theo gradually regain the use of his legs.
