From Penniless Widow to Prairie Queen

The Story

Claire, a modern chef, awakens in 1886 Minnesota as a penniless widow facing the imminent loss of her farm and children. Deprived of money, modern tools, and allies, she relies exclusively on her culinary skills to survive. She transforms potatoes, bones, sour milk, oats, pork scraps, and lake fish into meals that the entire town eagerly seeks. Yet each triumph attracts new adversaries who mock, sabotage, and frame her, nearly stripping her of everything at auction. Claire refuses to surrender and fights back to protect her children. She uncovers the truth behind her husband’s death and ultimately takes her enemy’s inn. She converts this property into a restaurant, fundamentally altering the course of her life.
