The Story

Nora’s world shatters when Julian, her fiancé, pushes her and her mother, a recent heart surgery patient, off a rescue boat during a devastating flood. He makes this choice to save Lily and her siblings, leaving the two women stranded on a roof. Floodwaters sweep away her mother, who later dies from an infection. In a state of despair, Nora is pulled to safety by a helicopter sent by her father. She subsequently fakes her own death and disappears into hiding, leaving behind the life she once knew.
