Help! Animals Won’t Stop Talking to Me

The Story

Evelyn Cole hears the voice of a dying racehorse just before he is put down. The champion, Blaze, does not suffer from a fatal illness but from gravel lodged in his hooves. Evelyn treats the hidden injury and saves his life. Ranch owner Ms. Carter hires the stable hand as an equine health consultant. Evelyn solves baffling cases that standard exams miss, helping animals trapped by depression, stress, and uncomfortable environments. She finds that ignored emotions drive abnormal behaviors. Veterinarian Dr. Harris accuses her of relying on luck without formal qualifications. Evelyn earns her veterinary license to silence the skepticism. She proves her skill in a public competition by diagnosing a border collie that ingested drugs. Evelyn realizes her gift only provides clues rather than cures. She creates mental and behavioral health records for vets and owners. Her career grows when she is invited to treat a snow leopard suffering from anorexia. Devoted to voiceless creatures, Evelyn continues exploring their hidden troubles.
