I Replaced My Heartless Fox

The Story

Harper’s world shatters when Lucian, her adopted pureblood fox beastman, mocks her poverty and low birth. He openly flirts with Serena, another beastwoman, convinced Harper is too needy to ever leave him. His cruelty escalates until he claws her arm. Heartbroken, Harper applies for a replacement. Lucian assumes she is merely jealous and continues to mock her. Then Kane arrives. This grey wolf appears fierce yet proves to be gentle and deeply loyal. On their first meeting, Kane retracts his claws and crouches low so he will not scare her. He protects Harper in every way. When the Bureau announces Lucian’s recall, he finally realizes she is truly done with him. He kneels and begs for forgiveness. Harper coldly refuses his plea. She has learned that if someone is wrong for her, she can simply replace them.
