Iris's Lighthouse

The Story

Iris defends the sea-facing structure she has maintained for decades against a sudden betrayal. Her husband Tom secretly sells the property to a developer planning to demolish the building for a resort. Iris rejects all threats and offers to remove it, instead broadcasting her plight online. The viral response brings together netizens, local fishermen, and students who rally to her side. A marathon live stream gathers hundreds of thousands of watchers, creating public pressure that halts the construction. The century-old lighthouse gains protected status, and Iris officially returns to her role as its keeper. Tom later dies in remorse. As years pass, the aging Iris steps down from her duties. She hands the keys to her young successor, Liam, ending her forty years of service. The beam continues to shine across the water, guiding ships safely to their destination.
