Justice Unbought

The Story

Alexander Hale commands the courtroom with an unbroken record, earning a fearsome reputation among peers. Beneath his cold exterior, he channels every dollar into legal aid for victims who cannot afford representation. His past shadows his present. Two decades ago, he secured an acquittal for an innocent man, triggering a decade of threats from a gang. He now raises his daughter Clara alone following his wife's death. Victor Blackwood, heir to a wealthy empire, abuses his status and tortures Clara and her husband Daniel after meeting them at a restaurant. Hale abandons his usual role to stand with the plaintiffs. He confronts his former student Ethan Reynolds, who betrayed him, in a high stakes trial. Despite being framed by Charles Blackwood and investigated by the FBI, ninety nine lawyers step forward to support him. Ethan ends up in prison. Charles Blackwood is convicted and imprisoned for the tragedy from twenty years earlier.
