Love Me or I Die

The Story

Lauretha Thomas faces a bleak future after months of job rejections leave her family in financial ruin. Desperate for an escape, she reluctantly joins her best friend Pamela at an exclusive nightclub far above her usual standards. Drowning her anxiety in wine, she accidentally spills the drink on the shirt of Jayden McClarke, a powerful CEO known for his cold demeanor. Jayden’s icy glare signals zero tolerance for mistakes, and he immediately grabs her arm in a tight, controlling grip. Instinct takes over, and Lauretha slaps him across the face, stunning the room into silence. As Jayden locks eyes with her, taken aback by the sudden violence, Pamela rushes forward to apologize on her friend’s behalf. The situation begins to de-escalate, but Lauretha feels humiliated and overwhelmed. She pulls away from Jayden’s hold and quickly exits the club with Pamela, retreating from the chaos she has just caused.
