The Story

A gentle white-rabbit beastman named Lucian believes he is a burden to his fiancé, Riven. When Riven accepts a new position in the north, Lucian secretly follows him but encounters a desperate young groom forced into an arranged marriage. After swapping wedding clothes, Lucian mistakenly boards the carriage and marries Kael, the powerful Panther Lord. Initially, neither man realizes the truth, with Lucian assuming Kael is Riven and Kael believing Lucian is his promised bride. Kael builds Lucian a swing, remembers his preferences, protects him without stripping his agency, and grants him the freedom to be himself. This new dynamic fosters a deep affection Lucian has never experienced. When the mistaken identity is eventually exposed, Kael refuses to release him. Riven arrives to reclaim Lucian, forcing the rabbit beastman to weigh an old promise against the man who taught him he was never a burden.
