The Story

A deadly heatwave turns Mark’s obsession into a tragedy when he locks his daughter Mia in a sweltering car to impress his first love Sarah. Claire receives a distress video and collapses, but Mark ignores her calls to maintain his image. His mother Ruth refuses to help, while his friend Tom dismisses Claire’s fears. After a desperate search, Claire finds Mia too late, and the eight-year-old dies. Still blinded by his infatuation, Mark suggests using Mia’s liver for Sarah’s sickly son. Claire destroys Mark’s business in response. Mark eventually discovers Sarah’s true nature and learns of Mia’s death. He kills Sarah before jumping to his own death. Ruth follows him. Claire survives, forever broken.
