The Story

Esther endures five years of abuse at the hands of her husband Carl. He cheats on her, hits her, and his actions indirectly kill their daughter. On their wedding anniversary, Carl dies during a violent physical fight. Panicked, Esther buries his body in the backyard before going to sleep. The next morning, Carl walks through the door alive and well. He behaves tenderly, just as he did when they first fell in love, which is nothing like the monster she buried. Esther wonders if Carl rose from the dead or if someone is posing as him.
