A man crafts an elaborate illusion to hold his partner’s attention. Unable to offer her distant celestial bodies, he gathers the local atmosphere instead. He collects the mist clinging to tiled roofs and the rain darkening cobblestones. He also captures the haze blurring lantern light. He gives her half the city’s weather as a tangible reminder. This gesture ensures she remembers him whenever the sky turns gray.
