My Husband, the Mermaid

The Story

Mingyue endures years of abuse after her husband, Zhou Shen, blames her for their inability to have children. He demands a divorce and vanishes, leaving her devastated. She visits a Mermaid Shrine with her best friend, Wanning, to pray for a baby. Wanning becomes hostile once pregnant, forcing Mingyue to return to the deserted shrine alone. She discovers Zhou Shen deep in a cave, transformed into a merman. The truth reveals Zhou Shen was actually infertile, framed his wife, and cheated with Wanning. He also assaulted the shrine keeper’s daughter, driving her to suicide. The keeper turned him into a monster as retribution for his crimes. Mingyue rescues him, but he remains paralyzed. She forgives the grieving mother who suffered such loss.
