My Husband's Choice

The Story

Caleb forces his mother to take command of the household finances. She swaps out the infant formula and serves him only cold leftovers, actions that leave him hospitalized. He blames Zoe for the incident, prompting her to file for divorce. Caleb signs the papers immediately, allowing Zoe to leave with their daughter. His existence quickly descends into turmoil as his mother-in-law seizes control of his salary. He continues eating poor food, develops stomach cancer, and transfers his remaining funds to her brother. When Caleb seeks financial help from Zoe, she tells him his illness is his own choice. Zoe and her daughter begin a fresh life together.
