Five-year-old Susie discovers a Mystic Measure that allows her to slip into modern times. With the help of Mr. Cole, she identifies so-called weeds as valuable herbs and food. She trades these items for grain to feed her starving family. Susie must keep her two-world trade hidden. The entire village depends on her success to survive the ongoing famine.
