No Jealousy Left, Alpha

The Story

Losing the baby forces a complete emotional shutdown in the Luna, who severs the mental bond with her mate, Alpha Rhydian. She endures his absence without complaint and conceals a severe arm injury from a border skirmish. When the pack doctor suggests notifying Rhydian, she refuses, claiming she has no family. The Alpha arrives anyway, his voice cold with fury as he questions why she did not use the mind link. She dismisses the wound as a mere scratch, refusing to bother him. The tension peaks when a guard reveals Rhydian granted the rare moonlight herb to Isla for a simple finger prick. Rhydian searches her face for the jealous rage he expects, but she offers nothing, not even a blink. Leaning back against the hospital pillows, she closes her eyes in silence. His composure finally shatters.
