Only Him Breaks My Rules

The Story

Jax Miller enforces a strict no-contact policy with his roommate, leaving no room for exception. Soft-spoken art student Miles Winter moves in, bringing sketchbooks and a smile that challenges every boundary Jax draws. Initially, Jax claims he is merely guarding Miles because someone has to, yet his actions tell a different story. He catches Miles before he falls, shields him from bullies, and swaps food to accommodate an allergy. As campus gossip spreads, Jax finds himself standing between Miles and cruel rumors, growing jealous before he can name his feelings. The fake boundaries collapse into real emotions. Miles teaches Jax that love requires permission rather than control and that bravery means telling the truth in public. Family pressure, sports injuries, and social scrutiny test their bond. Jax finally stops hiding behind his rigid rules. The boy who once taped a border across their dorm room tears it down himself. He chooses Miles as the one exception he never wants to take back.
