The Story

Five years of devotion to a brigadier general end in betrayal when he swaps her military dependent status for a sponsored girl and changes the locks on their shared home. Stripped of her career and left as an illegal resident on the base, she flees into the night to rebuild her life in a distant city. Seven years pass before a military arts festival forces a reunion. He arrives filled with regret, but she stands beside another man. The woman who once gave up everything for him now walks away without a backward glance. Her quiet exit marks the final severance of a bond that was broken long before the lock changed. The past remains where it belongs, behind her, as she steps fully into a future defined by her own choices and independence.
