Playing with Fire, Burning Love

The Story

Retired assassin Soye hides in a remote border village with memory-lost heiress Lingyan, posing as cousins to escape a hunting organization. Raised in comfort, Lingyan initially resents the harsh rural life but slowly learns to depend on Soye’s prickly yet dependable nature. While Soye maintains an outward indifference, he quietly shields her from danger. Their fabricated family bond blurs into genuine affection as they repeatedly cross the line between fake relatives and something deeper. This fragile peace shatters when He Jun, Lingyan’s greedy husband, and Chi Meng, Soye’s old enemy, arrive at the village. The sudden threat forces the pair to confront their true identities and feelings while facing the brink of life and death.
