Reclaiming My Stolen Home
The Story
Mabel refuses to vacate the house, forcing her cousin to fight for the property she lent out years ago. The protagonist initially agreed to let Mabel use the school-catchment home for three years, expecting a smooth return. Instead, Mabel changes the locks and occupies the space, producing a dubious agreement to justify her stay. She pressures the protagonist and demands payment for her own expenses. Relatives urge the protagonist to tolerate this behavior, but she rejects their advice. She establishes firm boundaries and pursues legal action to clarify the facts through official channels. This confrontation drives her to stop prioritizing family harmony over her own rights. She ensures Mabel faces the legal consequences of her actions. The experience transforms the protagonist from someone who always put family first into a person who takes full control of her own life.
