The Story

Sharp-suited Lin races through a bustling city, his phone dead and dread gripping him as he heads to the public hospital where his mother is admitted. He bursts into the ICU during a code, the flatlining monitor screaming as two exhausted staff push hard on her chest to restart her pulse. Total shock freezes him in place. A blonde woman stands calmly beside the medical team, draped in a vivid scarlet full-length coat and a glittering diamond choker. Her makeup is perfect, her demeanor icy, and she has been there long before he arrives. The scene opens with this life-or-death tension, highlighting the stark contrast between Lin’s frantic panic and the mysterious stranger’s serene presence in the critical care ward.
