Regret Is My Punishment

The Story

Karen, a housewife married to wealthy lawyer Tom, returns home to find her residence engulfed in flames. The blaze leaves her five-year-old daughter, Anna, in critical condition following a fall. Compassionate Merry secures a ride on a fire truck driven by Captain Bob to rush the child to the emergency room. As the vehicle speeds through the streets, it collides with Karen’s car. She steps out demanding apologies and compensation for the damage. Karen blocks the road, refusing to move despite the pleas of Merry, paramedic Eve, and nearby bystanders. Her stubbornness wastes precious minutes while the truck races to the hospital. Karen remains completely unaware that the emergency vehicle is transporting her own daughter. The collision and her refusal to clear the path create a tragic delay in Anna’s medical care.
