Regret is Punishment

The Story

Karen, a stay-at-home mother married to lawyer Tom, faces a household tragedy when a fire breaks out. Her five-year-old daughter Anna falls from the building and enters a critical state. Kind stranger Mery accompanies Karen to the hospital while fire captain Bob drives the emergency vehicle. Just as surgery becomes urgent, Karen returns from an affair and collides with the fire truck. She demands a kneeling apology and compensation for the perceived rescue delay. Mery, nurse Eve, and bystanders plead with her to move the vehicle. Karen refuses, remaining completely oblivious to the fact that the fire truck is rushing to save her own child.
