The Story

Ella Wentworth’s Thanksgiving dinner shatters when her fiancé, Asher, brings his subordinate, Syla, to the table. He seats Syla in Ella’s designated spot and wraps her in Ella’s grandmother’s shawl. Asher repeatedly demands that Ella give way, a provocation that finally wakes her up. Asher’s company collapses without her, as clients walk away, employees resign, loans are denied, and creditors seize assets. Syla abandons Asher the moment he has nothing left. Ella begins again surrounded by her family’s love and support. Asher stands outside the Wentworth estate, regretting that he personally threw away the most important person in his life.
