The Story

Edward Henderson conceals his fortune to win Irene Lawson, believing she values his character above all else. On their wedding day, he prepares to reveal the truth, but Nancy, Irene’s best friend, steps in to manipulate the situation. Provoked into testing Edward’s devotion, Irene issues absurd demands. He pleads with her to see reason, yet she remains firmly under Nancy’s influence. Gazing at the woman he loves, Edward no longer recognizes her. He draws a firm line in the sand and cancels the ceremony.
