The Cicada Farmer's Revenge

The Story

Villagers broke their promises for a phantom high price, leaving Leo Linden’s hard work and relationship in ruins. Cold shoulders and expulsion drive him to a desolate cold ridge, where he plants his knowledge as seeds and waits for dead wood to bloom. Greed shatters against reality when Willow Creek weeps over total crop failure. Golden cicadas finally chirp on Leo Linden’s barren ridge. The sound smooths over all the prejudice and betrayal he endured.
