The Story

Rosalind’s family watches the clock tick toward her eighteenth birthday, convinced she will not survive that day. They funnel every resource into her while neglecting her younger sister, Elowen. When Elowen develops a high fever, her parents lock her in a cold, dark basement. They ignore her suffering to focus on Rosalind’s celebration. The girl dies in despair.
