The Demon Wife Knows the Truth

The Story

Cassandra, the Warmaster’s daughter, survived three years as a quiet noble wife while hiding her true nature from the world. Her husband Aurelius returns from the border accompanied by another woman, and Cassandra immediately recognizes the lethal intent behind their alliance. The couple plans to eliminate her, yet she faces scorn from those who dismiss her warnings as the ravings of a jealous, unstable woman. Undeterred, she demands a public trial before the assembled nobility. Everyone expects her to plead guilty to their accusations, but the gathering witnesses are completely unaware of the true outcome. The treacherous pair who plotted her death will instead find themselves standing judgment, turning the tables on the entire court in a dramatic reversal of the anticipated verdict.
