The Freshman’s Secret

The Story

Mia, a nineteen year old freshman struggling with poverty, accepts a dangerous offer from African professor Kofi. He promises five thousand dollars monthly for companionship, but the arrangement quickly turns predatory. Kofi drugs, binds, and films Mia, then uses the recordings to force her into transporting illicit drugs and packages. Nina, the quiet roommate in her dorm, steps in to rescue Mia from Kofi’s control. She supports Mia through the painful process of withdrawal and becomes the sole person she trusts. However, the dynamic shifts abruptly when Mia discovers hidden messages on Nina’s phone. The text reveals that Nina was not acting out of altruism. Instead, she had been waiting for Mia to fall so she could catch her. This revelation exposes a calculated plan to own Mia’s life, leaving her trapped in a new form of captivity.
