The Story

A rainy night in medieval Lorinnea brings a princess in disguise to the door of Ella, a common tailor. As Ella tends to the fleeing royal, King Edmund arrives hidden behind the persona of a retired gardener. The two men bond, and Ella eventually marries the charming stranger, though she remains oblivious to his royal status. When the truth surfaces, the regent and nobles launch a vicious campaign to destroy her, smearing her reputation and threatening her family. Stripped of royal protection, Ella turns to her street-smart resilience. She studies the law meticulously to dismantle their accusations and prove her innocence in court. The king publicly declares that the crown is unworthy of her character. Once the political storm passes, Ella returns to her tailor shop. The king stays by her side daily, abandoning the glitz of power for the quiet, ordinary warmth of their shared life.
