The Story

Esther has endured five years of physical abuse and betrayal in her marriage to Carl. Their daughter died indirectly because of his actions, leaving Esther trapped in a cycle of fear and pain. On their fifth wedding anniversary, a violent confrontation escalates until Carl accidentally dies. Shocked and desperate, Esther buries his body in the backyard and retreats to bed. The next morning, Carl stands before her, alive and behaving like the gentle man she once loved. His demeanor no longer matches the violent husband she buried.
