The Story

Claire watches in despair as her husband, Miles, walks into her Wish Pawnshop to trade their unborn dragon child and her memories of him for the restored sight of Amber, his late brother's widow. Over the next five days, Miles hides the truth while constantly favoring Amber, even slapping Claire after Amber frames her for a crime. When the contract finally comes due, Claire loses her baby and begins to forget Miles entirely. Her friend Leo takes her away, leaving Miles behind. He eventually sees through Amber's true nature and tries to make amends, but the damage is already done.
