The Ninety-Ninth Oath

The Story

Lenora Rain suffers through a binding pact that forces her to endure her husband Sir Lucan Dacre’s injuries. When Lucan breaks his oath, the pact shatters instantly. Lenora reclaims her power while Lucan collapses under the pain she previously absorbed. She uncovers a sinister scheme where Lady Sabine Weir drains life force from knights’ wives using similar rituals. Lenora rallies the targeted women to withdraw their consent and dismantle Sabine’s operation. Lucan confesses that his reputation was built upon his wife’s blood, yet Lenora refuses to restore their marriage. She walks away with her power intact. The other wives follow her lead, reclaiming their bodies and voices. Lenora eventually leaves the capital to live by her own terms.
