The Unholy Gift of the Lucky Child

The Story

Villagers brand Emma Klein a harbinger of doom because her predictions always come true, yet she carries an extraordinary aura of luck. While gathering wild greens in rags, she encounters Helena Brandt, the wife of the General of Sonnhafen, who has become lost. Helena brings Emma to the residence, where the young woman’s presence causes flowers to bloom and revives the old house dog. The true nature of Emma’s miracle remains hidden beneath the surface, defying the labels placed upon her by the community.
