The Wedding That Wasn't

The Story

Edward Henderson conceals his fortune to secure the affection of Irene Lawson, believing her love is rooted in his true character. He intends to disclose his wealth on their wedding day, yet Nancy, Irene's closest confidante, intervenes with damaging rumors about testing devotion. Influenced by these whispers, Irene transforms the ceremony into a series of unreasonable demands. Despite Edward's earnest pleas and logical arguments, Irene remains deaf to his voice, listening exclusively to her friend.
