The Zoo Vet Who Hears Animal Clues

The Story

A near-fatal fever grants disgraced veterinarian Nancy Summers the secret ability to understand exactly what animals are saying. Her snobbish, old-money elite family reacts with deep mortification. They view her new, bizarre quirk as unforgivably unseemly. The family casts her out, rejecting her for this strange development. Nancy is left alone with her newfound gift, stripped of her status and support by the relatives who once knew her.
