Why I Did It

The Story

Zoe returns to her hometown city seeking a fresh start after leaving behind a monotonous career. Her goal is simple: secure new employment, find a romantic partner, and reignite the passion she feels is missing from her daily existence. During a solitary evening out, she encounters Mr. Gregory, leading to an unexpected night together. She believes this casual encounter will finally bring the spark she desires, though the reality proves far more complicated. Zoe reconnects with an old acquaintance named Sophia, and the two quickly form a tight bond. This closeness shatters when Zoe discovers that Mr. Gregory is actually Sophia's husband. The situation becomes even more tangled when she stumbles upon a journal. The writing inside belongs to her brother Andrew, a journalist who has gone missing, adding a mysterious layer to her already chaotic return to the city.
