The Story

Eight-year-old Lily suffers years of starvation and abuse under the DeLeons. After they throw her out into the freezing cold, she spots a missing-child poster beside a dumpster. The photo shows a girl who looks exactly like her, complete with a maple-leaf birthmark. Using her final quarter, Lily makes a desperate phone call to Rick Sterling, a father who has searched for his lost daughter for seven years. A DNA test confirms the shocking truth that Lily is genuinely his child. She reunites with Rick and Kate, finally discovering safety, love, friendship, and a real home. Healing from her past trauma involves learning that she no longer has to survive alone.
