After forgiving the empress a hundred times, I resigned and left
The Story
Graham Whitmore, the white-robed chancellor, gave his life to the late emperor in return for everything the monarch provided. He aged prematurely and promised the dying ruler that he would tolerate the new empress, the late king’s daughter, exactly one hundred times. This vow held firm regardless of the corrupt ministers she favored or how far she strayed from duty. Graham bowed his head through every transgression, enduring her actions with quiet resolve. However, the moment he reaches that final count, he resigns his post and walks away from the court. He does not look back, fulfilling his solemn promise to the late emperor without a second glance.
